Simon was riding is push bike to work when the chain snapped and he was thrown head-on into an arcticulated truck.

Paralysed from the waist down and damaged to the nerves for my right arm. I've worked hard to build up, gain more mobility in my right arm and I now drive a VW Cup Golf GTI DSG with radial hand controls.

I've been to a few track days and knew that the next stage was inevitable, racing!!!

Firstly I've been sprinting this year, gaining valuable experience in a completive environment, I've competed in 9 events across the south of England.

The modified sports car class has strong competion, with a dry track I couldn't match the pace of the 650bhp Nissan Skylines.

My last sprint for 2009 was at Lydden Hill, it was raining on & off all morning. I was improving every time & on my last run, set my best time.

I'd won my class & was 6th fastest out of 54, mixing it with the single seaters, a great day to end the season.

At the recent MSA Medical Panel I was issued with my National B Race  licence for 2010 and I am preparing to race in the VW Cup, watch this space........
